Reductions in trademark registration fee and renewal fee: effective April 1, 2016

The JPO announced that the official fees for trademark registration and renewal will be reduced as follows:

The reduction is applicable to those due on or after April 1, 2016 and if the fee is paid on or after April 1, 2016.  In a case where the renewal deadline is April 2, 2016, the official fee is JPY 38,800 (reduced fee) if the renewal request is made on April 1, 2016, but it remains JPY 48,500 (current fee) if the renewal request is made on or before March 31, 2016.
